* NEW * What is Lessons Library? (Passport)

Lessons Library is a collection of customized lessons created and shared by teachers who use Passport, from your school, your district, or the entire Passport community. This is an effective way for educators, local or across the world, to share the customized lessons which they have generated using the tools and materials provided by EMC School. This is all done to benefit the most important person in our classrooms; our student. Let’s take a look at how this works.

By now, many of you have seen or have been using Lesson Builder by clicking on My Lessons from the Assign tab in Passport.

As you have been creating lessons, you may have noticed the “Share with” drop down menu in the “enter lesson details” section.

Here is where you will choose whether you would like to share your lessons with other teachers at your school, your district, or the entire Passport community.

Sharing your customized Passport lessons is only half the fun. Let’s take a look at how you can review lessons created by other teachers within the Passport community and how to incorporate them into your own course.

How to review a lesson:
Log into Passport and from the “Assign” tab, click on the “Lessons Library” icon.

Within the Passport Lessons Library, you will see a multitude of lessons created by educators, like yourself. Click on the row containing the lesson that you would like to preview.

This will open a modal window, which will allow you to preview each of the activities contained in the lesson.

To preview the activity, click on the name of the activity and click on the “preview” button.

If you have determined that this is a lesson that you would like to incorporate into your course, click on the “copy” icon to place a copy of the lesson from the Lessons Library into “My Lessons”

From here you can assign the lesson to your students.  Should you wish to add additional material or edit the instructions of the lesson, you can do so by clicking on the edit icon on the right hand side.

Once you have made the desired changes, click on the Update Lesson button at the bottom of the page.

Please note: You cannot make any edits to your lesson after it is assigned to your students, so it is advised that you make any changes prior to scheduling.
